As said in the title. My problem is that I bought a new CPU and motherboard for an overhaul and the system isn't doing a POSt beep. I'm recycling the PSU, Graphics card, HDD and the DVD/CD drive. Also got a new case for the build.
I've researched this for a while now and it was recommended to do a breadboard test, which I did. No beeps, CPU fan running. Took out the RAM and tried again and get beeping for no memory. Figured it was probably just wrong slot the ram was in so changed it but that didn't work. Got new ram and same problem. No beeps... After that I went about resetting the CMOS but the system wouldn't even turn on at all so I moved the jumper cap back where it was and it turned on without any POST beep. Only thing that I had was the CPU, heat sink, CPU fan, PSU and motherboard for that test as well as rAM.
So at this point it could be the CPU or motherboard. I didn't see any damage on the motherboard or bent pins on the CPU. I'm thinking it's something internal on the motherboard. I read about this and it was suggested the the PSU could be the culprit too but it was working fine on the old motherboard. I had to upgrade the PSU when I got a new graphics card a couple years ago.
